Nos adresses dans le Péloponnèse

Our favorite spots in the Peloponnese

It is in this southern peninsula of Greece that we discovered another side of the country: wilder, more secret. The Peloponnese is a land of olive groves, warm stone, and crystalline seas, where nature meets history.

Between medieval villages, small coves, mountains, and tavernas shaded by fig trees, everything here is an invitation to admire and savor.

Nafplio

A former Greek capital, a little gem by the water. Wander through its paved alleys, between blooming balconies, quiet squares, and secret stairways. The climb up to Palamidi Fortress offers spectacular views.

Monemvasia

Connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land, this medieval town hidden behind a cliff is a world apart.

Limeni

A small stone village by the water, typical of the Mani. A stroll along the bay, between Maniot houses and terraces perched right on the sea. A calm, simple place with a true sense of place.

Voidokilia

An omega-shaped beach on the west coast, in the Messenia region. A protected lagoon with turquoise waters, accessible on foot across sand dunes, just steps from the medieval castle and Nestor's Cave.

Vathi Beach

A quiet beach in a sheltered bay, nestled between rolling hills and crystal-clear waters. Perfect for a peaceful, secluded swim.

Elafonisos

An island administratively part of the Peloponnese, to the south. An iconic beach with white sand, emerald green waters, and dunes, reachable by ferry from Pounta.

Foneas Beach

A secluded cove framed by cliffs and crystal-clear waters. The ground is covered in white pebbles, with a few rocks high enough for cliff jumping. A serene atmosphere.

Viros Gorge (Kardamyli)

A trail climbing between the sea and the mountains, with discreet hilltop monasteries and freely roaming goats along the way.

Diros Caves (Mani)

A boat exploration through an impressive underground network. Stalactites and dark waters make for a timeless, must-see experience.

Ancient Messene

A vast, well-preserved ancient site nestled in a lush green landscape. Uncrowded, peaceful site and visit.

Palamidi Fortress

999 steps to climb (or take the road), rewarded with spectacular views over the old town and the sea. One of the Peloponnese's finest panoramas.

Tainaron Blue Retreat (Mani)

Just three rooms, set inside a former watchtower facing the sea. Breathtaking views blend with a minimalist atmosphere.

Bastione Malvasia Hotel (Monemvasia)

In the heart of the medieval town, a stone hotel with rustic charm. Some rooms look out over the sea, others over the village alleys. A simple, authentic place of quiet calm.

Pirgos Mavromichali

A traditional Mani tower house turned boutique hotel, featuring direct sea access. The atmosphere is understated and serene, with Limeni Bay as an ever-present backdrop.

Kourmas (Limeni)

A seaside taverna with a terrace right on the water. The menu features fresh fish and traditional fresh salads, all with open views over the bay.

O Takis (Limeni)

A long-standing family institution, known for its seafood platters and local daily catch.

Notiás (Kalamata)

A modern venue on the Kalamata marina, serving revisited Mediterranean cuisine.

Kardamo (Kalamata)

Just steps from the center, a warm and slightly secluded spot, renowned for its homemade Greek cuisine with a contemporary twist.
