Our trip to La Bisbal
At Tressé, we think of each suitcase as an experience in its own right, allowing you to travel and immerse yourself in a new culture. We also partner with artisans to bring to life hand-crafted or woven objects and clothing. For us, it is essential to celebrate their know-how and the way in which they perpetuate it. We seek to highlight different craft traditions around the world. This is also the art of Tressé living.
ON THE ROUTE TO BISBAL D’EMPORDA
Continuing our inspiration for Spain, our creative team went to La Bisbal d'Empordà to meet local artisans and discover their unique know-how.
Our itinerary
La Bisbal d'Empordà is a municipality in the province of Girona in Catalonia surrounded by villages that we visited: Corçà, Vulpellac, Palau Sator.
THE BISBAL OF EMPORDA
We met :
Joan , who creates art pieces with a unique La Bisbal technique.
Annick , a ceramist who creates objects around a poetic universe in pastel colors.
Anna and Lluis , with a view to developing our ideas while keeping their techniques and know-how.
VULPELLAC
We then took the road to Vulpellac to meet David and Anna , two ceramic artists.
They both work with natural pigments and have developed a particular temperature and oxygen use technique to fire ceramics.
CORCA
After Vulpellac, direction Corça. There we met two sisters, Isabel and Fabiola .
This is a favorite workshop where ceramic inking has been represented for generations.
For the sake of upcycling, they use the remaining earth to create candlesticks.
-
A little further along the streets of Corçà, we met Jordi . He creates plain pieces in light colors.
PALAU SATOR
To end our stay filled with inspiration and crafts,
direction Palau Sator.
There we met Marta , a ceramist who creates plain pieces with varied shapes. The ceramics dry in the sun in the building's garden.
All these craftsmen are certified by the “ceramica La Bisbal” logo.
Discover exclusively the know-how of these ceramists on our e-shop and at Bon Marché.
